Faith in the Valley

I once heard Dr. Charles make three statements.

  • Little faith hopes that God will do what He says.

  • Strong faith knows that He will.

  • Great faith believes that He has already done it.

We all go through seasons when we're running low in the faith department. We begin strong in the midst of a storm, standing and being intentional about our endurance and perseverance. We believe God has already won the battle and we wait patiently for the storm to subside. As time goes on, we go from believing to knowing He's working on it and soon He will intervene. As more time passes, we go from knowing to hoping He does what He tells us in HIs word but then we start questioning HIm. We begin wavering and become frustrated because it's been a few weeks, a few months or even years and nothing has changed. In fact, it seems like our prayers fell to the wayside.

I'm reminded that once you petition God with your prayers, He instantly begin to work on your behalf according to His will. Yes, it is done! but not in the way or in the time you would like things to be done. Remember our thoughts, ways and timing are not the same as God's (Isaiah 55:8-9). Be careful and not let the spirit of impatience take control. When you touch it after you've given it to God, He will back off and your progress if any will only be temporary and will more than likely set you back with things being worse than they were before.

Ask God to lead you with His wisdom and guidance, let His gentle spirit lead you (Psalm 143:10) while trusting the process even when things seem to be at its worst. He makes no mistakes, He knows the beginning and end, and whatever He allow's, it's always for a good purpose.

Patiently allow God to walk with you through the valley (Psalm 23:4) NOT run! But patiently walk with HIm, knowing that if He brings you to it, He will see you through it.

I hope this blesses you all.

Another good write up! "Be careful and not let the spirit of impatience take control. When you touch it after you've given it to God, He will back off and your progress if any will only be temporary and will more than likely set you back with things being worse than they were before."

What a great reminder to let God be God!
